Felted Flowers: Painting with Wool

  • The Art Lounge AK 300 East Dimond Boulevard Anchorage, Alaska, 99515 United States (map)

WHO: 14 and up
WHEN: November 7 & 8, Saturday and Sunday, 11–2 (Two-day class)
WHERE: The Art Lounge, 300 E Dimond Blvd, Anchorage
COST: $150.00

Looking for an excuse to try something new? This class is an invitation to step into a colorful, welcoming space and discover the art of "painting" with fine Merino wool, layering soft, saturated color like brushstrokes, blending fiber the way you'd blend paint, until a garden begins to bloom beneath your hands. Join fiber artist Margaret Mackie at The Art Lounge for a two-day workshop where you'll learn the foundations of wet felting alongside needle felting, beading, and embroidery, building a vibrant nature-inspired piece from start to finish.

More than a technique class, this is a gift you give yourself, two days to slow down, get lost in the flow of creating, and create alongside other kind, curious makers in a warm, non-judgmental community. You'll leave with new skills, a one-of-a-kind felted artwork, and the quiet joy that comes from making space for yourself and connecting with others.

No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Open to ages 14 and up, and you're welcome to bring snacks or drinks for your enjoyment.
